NORTH VANCOUVER, BC - Local musician Liam Sturgess has released his new album, "Café des Rêves", for the enjoyment of his fans and the greater Vancouver music scene.
From 2014-2018, Sturgess has been actively developing the album alongside the growth of his startup music studio, Four Destinations Records. The result is a heartfelt, energetic collection of indie-pop-rock songs that scream of Jason Mraz and Coldplay influences.
"There were times throughout the process where I really did just want to abandon the project. But at the end of the day, I found the desire to sing the songs of my heart and not compromise", Sturgess explains on his Facebook page.
"I owe a lot of that to the collaborators and lifelong friends in my life." The album was entirely produced by Sturgess, with important musical and instrumental contributions from collaborators Brayden Wilkinson, Alex Balanko, Kristian Goze and Mark Daudlin, with additional ideas owed to Liam Carsley and Norman Tarasoff. The album's photography was done by Raunie Mae Baker.
Speaking about his next steps, Sturgess said, "Now that these songs are out there for the world to hear, I'm going to focus on reinvigorating my live show. The album is full of songs I've been playing for the last few years, and I'd love to now take the opportunity to show the world something new." His plans include performing live as much as possible in 2018, and exploring other genres of music in the studio.
